Your privacy is important to The Flight Safety Foundation Limited (the Foundation, we, us or our). You may provide information when communicating with us or transacting with us electronically.

Accordingly, the Foundation has developed a Privacy Policy in order for you to understand how we collect, use, hold and disclose information collected from users visiting or submitting information through our website and the BARS Program.

Information We Collect
We collect certain visitor information through the BARS pages on our website and through the BARSoft application. Whether personal information is collected during your visit will depend on how you access our website. If you register for an account on our website or provide your contact details so that we can send you some information or answer a query, then this will result in us collecting personal information about you.

- details of your involvement in the aviation or safety industry, including your employer or any organisation that you represent or participate in; and

Certain areas of our website require that you register and receive permission before the Foundation allows you to download certain product information. How Flight Safety Foundation Limited Protects Your Information
Flight Safety Foundation Limited is committed to protecting users’ personal information from outside access, use, and disclosure. Generally, access to information is limited to our employees and contractors who need access to perform their jobs and contracting organisations to whom release is authorised by relevant Program agreements. We protect personal information by reasonable security safeguards against loss or theft, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use or modification. However, we cannot guarantee security nor can we eliminate all information security risks.
We may hold your information in either electronic or hard copy form. Personal information is destroyed or de-identified when no longer needed or when we are no longer required by law to retain it (whichever is the later).

How can you access and correct your personal information?
You may request access to any personal information that we hold about you at any time by contacting us (using the details in the ‘Contacting us’ section below). Where we hold information that you are entitled to access, we will try to provide you with suitable means of accessing it (for example, by posting or emailing a copy to you). We may charge you a reasonable fee to cover our administrative and other reasonable costs in providing the information to you. We will not charge for simply making the request and will not charge for making any corrections to your personal information.
There may be instances where we cannot grant you access to the personal information that we hold about you. For example, we may need to refuse access if granting access would interfere with the privacy of others or if it would result in a breach of confidentiality. We will treat your complaint confidentially, investigate your complaint and aim to ensure that we contact you and your complaint is resolved within a reasonable time (and in any event within the time required by the Privacy Act, if applicable).
